International Yoga Day Report

College has celebrated International yoga day on 21st June, 2022, organized by the NSS department. The chief guests for the program were Dr Reeya Sankhe Bhoir is the trusty of Reeya Naturopathy Trust Hospital, Thane and Mr Atmaram Torane from Laughter Yoga. This program has taken place during college hours. The program is hosted by Maya Bheke, NSS Leader. Dr. Supriya Yadav NSS programme officer introduce guests and guests are felicitated by I/C Prin. Dr Ashwini Torane and Vice Principal Dr. Krishnan Nandela.
I/C Prin. Dr Ashwini Torane and Vice Principal Dr. Krishnan Nandela also given speech on importance of yoga and how the yoga is best for everyone. I/C Prin. Dr Ashwini Torane has announced ‘Certificate Course in Yoga’ for students at free of cost. This course is going to be conducted by Dr. Pratima Sankhe and Dr. Riya sankhe Bhoir in 20 sessions, each session will be of two hours.
Reeya Naturopathy Trust Hospital Thane is formed in 1997. Through Naturopathy and Yoga they have treated many types of diseases. They also have performed their naturopathy and yoga practices by using a platform like Zee Namaskar, Zee 24 taas and other online media. So, this is the trust which is doing social work and helping the people to come up with their best lives.
Mr. Atmaram torane was served as a guard in Indian Railways. Traveled in India and many countries of the world. ‘JumboJet’ is his a travelogue based on experience in Europe and America. He was retired in 1997. After that he Participated in the Laughter (Hasya) Yoga movement started by Madan Kataria. For the last 25 years, he has been working as a Laughter Ambesedor in various places like Maharashtra, Goa, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
He is regularly invited to conduct Laughter yoga sessions at Rotary Club, Dignity Foundation, Tata Hospital, KC College, National College, Vartak College and Mumbai University. His Laughter yoga sessions are held at various schools, old age homes, Byculla Arthur Road Jail, and many corporate offices. He is the humorous yogi, who convey the thought that, ‘Laughter is the best medicine’ through his actions only.
Honorable Leela Atmaram Torane is also a Laughter yogi who participated in this Laughter yoga movement with him. She has been active in this field for the last 25 years. Her autobiography of ‘Nandya Lilu’ is also admired by many.
Nearly about 150 students were attended the progrm. Both the guests have performed yoga and laughter yoga practices and it is followed by the students and staff. It is a very refreshing experience to perform the same and students felt very happy and they have decided to perform the yoga everyday. With the vote of thanks the program is concluded.
