Enviornment
Tree Plantation:
The NSS Unit of Gokhale Education Society’s Dr. T. K. Tope Arts and Commerce Night College organized a Tree Plantation Drive on 12 July 2026 in association with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kosbad, Dahanu, at the KVK campus. A total of 43 NSS volunteers actively participated in the plantation drive. During the activity, 50 saplings of Jambhul (Jamun) and Ritha (Soapnut) were planted across the KVK campus under the guidance of the KVK staff.




Paper Bag Making Activity:
On the occasion of Independence Day, the NSS Unit of college organized a Paper Bag Making Activity to promote environmental awareness and encourage the use of eco-friendly alternatives to plastic bags. A total of 32 NSS volunteers actively participated in the activity and prepared 500 paper bags.


Health
Celebration of International Yoga Day
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the NSS Department of GES’s Dr. T. K. Tope Arts and Commerce Night College, Parel, Mumbai, organized a Guest Lecture on Yoga on 23 June 2026. At the beginning, Principal Dr. S. B. Karande, explained the significance of celebrating International Yoga Day. The resource person, Mr. Sharad Wabale, delivered an informative and inspiring lecture highlighting the importance, benefits, and scope of yoga in daily life. He encouraged students to adopt yoga as a regular practice for maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance. Prof. Dnyaneshwar Jambhule was also present during the programme and appreciated the efforts of the NSS Department in organizing such a meaningful and awareness-oriented event.


Fruit Distribution at KEM Hospital Parel:
The NSS Unit of Gokhale Education Society’s Dr. T. K. Tope Arts and Commerce Night College organized a Fruit Distribution Programme on 22 July 2026 at KEM Hospital, Parel. During the programme, 23 NSS volunteers visited Ward Nos. 1 and 3 of the children’s section at KEM Hospital and distributed apples to 70 child patients. The programme was sponsored by Prof. Shubhraj Buwa, who contributed ₹3,371 towards the purchase of fruits. Principal Dr. S. B. Karande guided and encouraged the NSS volunteers throughout the activity.





Visit to Old Age Home at Khadavli:
The NSS Unit of GES’s Dr. T. K. Tope Arts and Commerce Night College, Parel, visited Matoshree Old Age Home on 9 August 2026. A good initiative was taken by Prof. Dnyaneshwar Jambhule, who donated groceries worth ₹3,800 to the old age home. A total of 25 NSS volunteers actively participated in this activity. The activity was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. S. B. Karande.







Dry Fruits Distribution to Wadia Children’s Hospital:
The NSS Unit of college visited Wadia Children’s Hospital on 15 August 2026 on the occasion of Independence Day. As a gesture of care and social responsibility, the NSS Unit donated dry fruits to 27 cancer patients admitted to the hospital. Principal Dr. S. B. Karande also participated in the activity with the student volunteers and the Programme Officer Prof. Sandip S. Kajabe.

Education:
Nasha Mukt Mass Pledge:
The NSS Unit of College conducted the Nasha Mukta Mass Pledge Campaign on 30/7/2026 across all classrooms to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a drug-free society. A total of 40 NSS volunteers actively participated in the campaign.
