It gives me immense pleasure and a deep sense of responsibility to welcome you to Gokhale Education Society’s Dr. T. K. Tope Arts and Commerce Night College, Parel, Mumbai- an institution that stands as a beacon of hope, opportunity, and social transformation through education.
Our college is a proud constituent of the Gokhale Education Society, one of the oldest, most pioneering, and socially committed educational institutions of Maharashtra. Since its inception, the Society has been guided by the noble vision of making quality education accessible to all sections of society, especially the underprivileged, the working class, and the marginalized. This legacy of service, discipline, and academic excellence continues to inspire us even today.
Dr. T. K. Tope Arts and Commerce Night College was established with a unique and socially relevant mission: “We commit ourselves to creating and enabling an appropriate academic atmosphere for working students, ensuring their overall development through curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities, and imbibing ethical values to help them become self-confident and responsible citizens of India.” The College has the distinct honour of being the first Night College of the University of Mumbai and also the first of its kind in the State of Maharashtra. This historic distinction reflects our unwavering commitment to inclusive education and social empowerment.
As a Night College, our institution plays a vital role in shaping the lives of students who balance education with employment, family responsibilities, and social obligations. We firmly believe that education should not be a privilege, but a right, and that determination and hard work must always be supported by institutional encouragement and guidance.
The college offers Undergraduate programmes in Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.), catering to diverse academic interests and career aspirations. In addition, we offer Postgraduate programmes in Management and Accounting, designed to enhance professional competence, leadership skills, and analytical abilities in today’s dynamic and competitive world. Our academic programmes are supported by dedicated faculty members who strive not only to impart knowledge but also to inculcate values, discipline and ethical responsibility.
At Dr. T. K. Tope College, education goes beyond classrooms and examinations. We aim to nurture responsible citizens, critical thinkers, and socially sensitive individuals.
