Any other item with the permission of the chair.

No other issue was raised by the members present.  Principal Sant asked Principal Deshpande to express his ideas about the meeting.

Principal Deshpande’s queries, guidance and discussion thereupon

Principal R. P. Deshpande discussed issues presented in the academic plan 2023-24.

  1. What do you mean by examinations conducted according to the University schedule?
    1. Prof. Buwa said University of Mumbai sends a broad schedule for conducting FY and SY examinations, which includes a range of dates and colleges are asked to conduct exams during those days.
    2. TY exams are conducted as per University schedule.
  2. What is the composition and role of the Administrative committee
    1. Prof. Buwa – The idea of such a committee was mooted and implemented by Principal Rokade when he was in the office.  The committee includes the Principal, Office superintendent, two senior teachers and a clerk.  It reviews the progress of office work in cases of promotion, increments, arrears, staff requirements and other administrative matters.  At least two meetings of the committee are held during the year.
    2. Principal Deshpande – Service books of all teachers should be kept up-to-date.  Mark this work to a clerk permanently.
    3. OS – Normally the head clerk looks after this work and all service books are updated.
    4. Principal – All service books are updated,  There is no problem in this matter.
  1. How are different days celebrated throughout the year in the College?
    1. Prof. Buwa – Lectures by eminent personalities in the related field are organised.  For example on 26th November 2022, on the occasion of Constitution day, Advocate Suresh Mane, a renowned legal luminary, delivered a lecture related to the Constitution and rights of individuals.
    2. Principal Deshpande – Exactly, this is my suggestion that you should call eminent personalities and organise their lectures.
  2. What is the role of the purchase committee?  Whether all purchasing is done after the permission of the purchasing committee?
    1. Principal – Yes, every purchase is done after the approval of the purchasing committee
  3. Whether Parents-Teacher meetings are conducted regularly?
    1. Principal – Yes.
    2. Principal Deshpande – It is necessary to conduct these meetings and be in touch with the parents.  It is a different thing that very few parents attend such meetings.  It is a universal picture.  The story is the same everywhere.  Last week I attended one such meeting, only two parents attended.  So be careful about dealing with the parents.
    3. Principal – We held one such meeting last week.  Sent invitations to about 300 parents, only 6 i.e. hardly 2% parents attended.
  4. Seminars and Workshops
    1. At least two seminars in a term and four in an academic year must be organised.
    2. Principal – Noted.  We will organise such seminars.
  5. NSS camps
    1. NSS camps should be organised regularly.
  6. Attendance
    1. Principal Deshpande – Keep detailed record of student attendance.  Whenever you take action against an irregular student, (whose attendance is below 75% in the related academic year) you should have appropriate record to prove his / her absence.
    2. Principal – Attendance record is maintained online with the help of a comprehensive software recording all activities of the College.
  7. NAAC
    1. Principal Deshpande – NAAC has changed the rules.  After you send the report they raise numerous queries, until they are fully satisfied.  All teachers must be ready with their documents, records and reports.  You should get at least B+.  Contact Principal Sant Madam.  She is an expert in NAAC related matters.
    2. Principal Nandela – We often take guidance from Principal Sant Madam and

Good work by College

Finally, Principal Deshpande remarked, that the college is doing good work.  Keep it up.  He also suggested that from next time incharge teachers of various committees should participate and present in the CDC meeting,

Vote of thanks

Vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Shubharaj Buwa and the meeting ended.
