12 autonomous colleges affiliated to Mumbai University awarded empowered status

Accordingly, Mumbai University began the process the next day and out of total 13 applications received, 12 autonomous colleges have been awarded the new status.

As many as 12 autonomous colleges affiliated to the Mumbai University have been given the status of Empowered Autonomous College.
These colleges can now award joint degrees with Mumbai University. The degrees will have the college’s name and logo along with that of Mumbai University.

Based on recommendations by the recently held academic council, the university’s management council has finalised the decision.
In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, these colleges are now one step closer to becoming degree-awarding institutions.
