  • यांचे शिक्षण सावित्रीबाई फुले पुणे विद्यापीठाच्या राज्यशास्त्र व लोकप्रशासन विभाग येथून झाले.
  • मुंबई येथील श्रीमती ना. दा. ठाकरसी महिला विद्यापीठ येथे गेली २१ वर्षे त्या राज्यशास्त्राच्या प्राध्यापक म्हणून कार्यरत होत्या. नुकत्याच त्या पुण्यातील राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान शिक्षण व संशोधन संस्था (आयसर) येथे मानव्य व सामाजिक शास्त्राच्या सहयोगी प्राध्यापक म्हणून रुजू झाल्या आहेत.
  • आधुनिक भारतातील राजकीय चिंतन आणि सामाजिक चळवळी हा त्यांच्या विशेष अध्ययनाचा विषय असून याच विषयावरील त्यांचे लेखन प्रकाशित आहे.
  • साने गुरुजी: व्यक्ती आणि विचार या पुस्तकाच्या दोन आवृत्त्या प्रकाशित असून तिसरी लवकरच प्रकाशित होत आहे. Gandhian Engagement with Capital: Perspectives of J. C. Kumarappa हे पुस्तक सेज प्रकाशनाने प्रकाशित केले असून त्याच्या भारत, ब्रिटन आणि अमेरिका अशा तीन ठिकाणाहून आवृत्त्या निघाल्या आहेत.
  • केंद्र शासन आणि महाराष्ट्र शासनाच्या पाठ्यपुस्तक निर्मिती मंडळासाठी नागरिक शास्त्र व राज्यशास्त्र पाठ्यपुस्तक निर्मितीच्या कामात त्यांचा दहा वर्षे सहभाग राहिला आहे.
  • महाराष्ट्र राज्य निवडणुक आयोगाच्या संशोधन समितीवर २०१६ ते १८ याकाळात त्या कार्यरत होत्या.
  • अनेक स्वायत्त महाविद्यालये तसेच विद्यापीठाच्या राज्यशास्त्राच्या अभ्यास मंडळावर त्या सक्रीय आहेत.
  • प्राध्यापक यशवंत सुमंत यांच्या साहित्याच्या संपादनाचे काम त्या करत असून ‘आधुनिक भारतातील धर्मचिंतन’ हा सुमंत सरांच्या लेखांचा दुसरा खंड लवकरच प्रकाशित होणार आहे.


Dr. Chaitra Redkar

  • Completed her education form Savitribai Phule Pune University.
  • Has taught Political Science for 21 years at S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Mumbai and is at present working at Indian Institute for Science Education & Research (IISER, Pune) as Associate Professor in Humanities & Social Sciences.
  • Political Ideas in Modern India and Social Movements has been her area of specialization and published in this area in English and Marathi
  • Her work on Sane Guruji’s political biography has been received with acclaim and its third edition is in press.
  • Recently SAGE Publications has published her work ‘Gandhian Engagement with Capital: Perspectives of J. C. Kumarappa’.
  • She has also contributed to the textbook development projects of Government of Maharashtra and Government of India
  • She has worked with State Election Commission on its research committee (2016-18)
  • She is member of the Board of Studies in Political Science for number of autonomous colleges in the state of Maharashtra and has contributed to Curriculum Development
  • She is at present editing Professor Yashwant Sumant’s works. First of volume of this work ‘Gandhian Thought’ is published and the second volume ‘Religious Discourse in Modern India’ is in the pipeline.
